WHAT is BUSINESS CHINESE COURSE or BCT?
The Business Chinese Test (BCT) is an international standardised framework of Chinese language proficiency to assess non-native Chinese speakers' abilities in using the Chinese language in real business or common working environments. The BCT is an official HanBan (Confucius institute) test, just like the HSK and YCT. The International BCT, as a test series, consists of three independent levels: BCT (A), BCT (B), and the BCT (Oral iBT). Students will be trained in four skills of the language, namely Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. The BCT consists of a writing test and a speaking test, which are independent of each other. The writing test is divided into two levels, namely, the BCT (A), and the BCT (B). The different levels of the BCT can meet some of the levels in the Chinese Language.

What is BCT (A) 1?
After passing the level, students can understand and describe basic daily routines and use daily expressions appropriately in a given context. They express personal purposes with the help of body language and contextual circumstances and make proper reactions and also convey views on simple topics with limited and basic words or daily expressions.

After successful completion, students can understand language materials that are commonly used in daily life and grasp major information; understand frequently used expressions and requirements in the work environment and function accordingly. They can describe topics of daily work, life or social contact and express personal ideas and demands; can make simple statements about things familiar to everyday life or events at the workplace and make short explanations.

What is BCT (A) 1?
After completing the level students can communicate with others on working and social occasions; can discuss common topics and present opinions. They are able to express personal views clearly and consistently with communicative strategies.

What is BCT (B) or levels 4 & 5?
Test takers who are able to pass the BCT (B) can understand and use the Chinese language to complete more complex business communication tasks. BCT (B) 4: After passing level 4, students are competent of most communicative tasks on work occasions and in daily life. They can use proper communicative strategies coherently and logically in verbal communication.

What is BCT (B) 5?
Test takers who are able to pass the BCT (B) can understand and use the Chinese language to complete more complex business communication tasks. BCT (B) 5: After successful completion level 5, students are fully competent to finish communicative tasks at work, on social occasions and in daily life. They can use Chinese properly and communicative strategy effectively with coherence and logic in verbal communication.

What is BCT (Oral iBT)?
After this level, learners acquire the skills to use spoken Chinese in a real business or regular work environment and undertake language tasks that they can complete. Following the principle of practicality, oriented towards speaking and listening and emphasizing workplace abilities, this course aims to recreate real workplace situations and provides practical content for communication, stepping on the previous 5 levels.
